Wedge grooves don’t last forever.
If you play regularly, there’s a good chance your wedges are already losing spin and consistency, especially on partial shots and around the green. The problem is that replacing wedges every season (or even every other season) gets expensive fast.
So, I went back to our 2024 Best Wedges test and matched it up with current pricing. The result: several of those top-performing wedges have seen significant price drops.
Here are the standouts.
TaylorMade Milled Grind 4
The MG4 finished second overall in our 2024 test and was one of the most complete wedges in the field. It ranked second in accuracy and second in consistency which is about as strong as it gets for an all-around performer.
They now are priced at around $149.98 (down from $179.99). It’s certainly easier to justify than it was at full price.

Titleist Vokey SM10
The SM10 finished third overall and was the most accurate wedge in the test (first in accuracy). With a Vokey wedge, you know what you are getting. Take a look in professional bags and you’ll quickly see the Vokey line has proven itself through the years.
While it didn’t lead in spin, its strength is predictability. If you’re looking to hit your number, control your distance and repeat that, it’s worth it.
With pricing now around $159.98 (down from $189.99), you’re not getting the latest Vokey technology but you’re getting a wedge with proven results.

Cleveland RTX 6 ZipCore
The RTX 6 ZipCore finished sixth overall, but what stands out is how balanced it was. It was sixth in accuracy and sixth in spin.
It performed well across the board but didn’t stand out in any one category. Now around $139.98 (down from $169.99), it lands in a very appealing value tier for a proven performer. In addition, Cleveland wedges are known for maintaining high spin rates even when playing from wet grass.

Callaway CB Wedge
We went back a little further for this one.
The Callaway CB wedge was part of of the 2023 Best Wedge testing and stood out as the best for accuracy.
Unlike the more traditional, player’s-style wedges on this list, the CB is built with a cavity-back design to provide more forgiveness on off-center strikes. That makes it a strong option for golfers who need a little extra help around the greens.
Now priced around $139.98 (down from $159.99), it’s a good option for players who feel like they need a little help around the greens.

Final thoughts
Wedges wear out; it’s just part of the game. But replacing them doesn’t always have to mean paying full price. Go back a few years in testing and you’ll probably stumble on some good deals. If you’re a left-handed golfer, pricing can be even lower.
