5 Smartest Personal Launch Monitor Buys For 2026

Most personal launch monitors cost more than $1,000. In 2026, we tested 17 personal launch monitors and scored them on accuracy, features and ease of use, with accuracy making up most of the score. The results don’t always follow the price tag and the range runs from $200 to well over $4,000 so we used that data to find the launch monitors that deliver the most for what they cost. Here’s what we looked for.

  1. It’s accurate. A launch monitor that gives you the wrong numbers is worse than none.
  2. The price is justified. It doesn’t have to be cheap but it has to deliver more than you’d expect and that includes any software or membership you’ll need to pay for.
  3. You’ll still use it a year from now. The best launch monitor is the one you keep taking to the range or using in your home simulator so setup, portability and ease of use all count.

Here are the 5 Smartest Personal Launch Monitor Buys for 2026, counting down.

5. FlightScope Mevo Gen2

The Mevo Gen2 was our Staff Pick for 2025 and best for true portability and accuracy. In 2026, it scored an 8.0, in the middle of the field.

It combines radar and camera tracking in a pocket-size unit, measures 18 data points and includes simulator courses with no subscription fees so the price on the sticker is the price you pay. It’s the right pick if you want a portable unit with no ongoing costs.

The LM1 was our best under-$500 launch monitor of 2026. At $199.99, you get club speed, ball speed, smash factor, carry and total distance. It doesn’t measure spin, launch angle or direction, and it isn’t a fitting or simulation tool but it came close to the same numbers the GCQuad produced on ball speed and carry. If you’re new to launch monitors, it’s the cheapest way in.

3. Rapsodo MLM2PRO

The MLM2PRO was our best personal launch monitor under $1,000 for the third straight year in 2025, scoring a 9.7. It pairs radar with two cameras for shot video, works indoors and outdoors, and includes simulator capability. At $699.99, its accuracy nearly rivals launch monitors that cost thousands more. The full feature set requires a Premium membership so factor that into the price. We didn’t retest the MLM2PRO in 2026 so these results are from our 2025 test.

2. Garmin Approach G82

The G82 is the highest-scoring launch monitor under $1,000 in our 2026 test at an 8.5 and it was our best for true portability and accuracy. It’s a handheld GPS and launch monitor in one with a five-inch touchscreen, built-in radar for ball speed, club speed, smash factor and tempo, putting metrics and up to eight hours of battery life in radar mode. It’s $599.99 at PGA TOUR Superstore and you carry one device for the range and the course. It doesn’t measure spin or launch angle but for the price, it’s a smart buy.

1. Bushnell Launch Pro

The Launch Pro was our best personal launch monitor of 2026, scoring a 9.4, with the best overall accuracy and nearly perfect ball speed numbers. It was also the most accurate in our 2024 test and the runner-up for accuracy in 2025. At $2,999.99 at PGA TOUR Superstore, it’s the most expensive monitor on this list but it outscored the Garmin R50 (9.3) which costs about $5,000. Using it as a golf simulator requires a software subscription but if you want tour-level accuracy at home, this is the one that gives up the least.
