There will be nine South Africans to follow at this week’s Danish Golf Championship headlined by recent winners Yurav Premlall and Richard Sterne.

Local hope Rasmus Højgaard will begin his bid to join Bernd Wiesberger as just the second two-time winner of the Danish Golf Championship alongside the Austrian when the tournament gets under way on Thursday.
The Dane, champion in 2023, is expected to draw big crowds to new DP World Tour venue Great Northern as he returns to home soil this week for the penultimate event of the Closing Swing on the Race to Dubai.
Wiesberger won the title in 2019 and 2021 and returned to the DP World Tour winner’s circle earlier this season after a near five-year absence with victory in China.
The pair, both Ryder Cuppers, have 14 DP World Tour titles between them and are joined by Eugenio Chacarra, who himself has two this season alone, and that trio will start from the tenth at 08:00 local time.
Off the same hole, ten minutes later, Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen – another from the contingent of home favourites this week – is grouped with Major Champion Henrik Stenson and Finland’s Oliver Lindell, who is yet to miss a cut this season across 19 starts.
On the opposite side of the draw, starting off the first, rising Danish star Jacob Skov Olesen is joined by Sweden’s recent first-time DP World Tour winner Mikael Lindberg and two-time Masters winner Bubba Watson at 13:00.
That threeball is followed immediately after by eight-time DP World Tour winner Thorbjørn Olesen, South Africa’s Richard Sterne and England’s Dan Bradbury, with the latter two both winners so far this campaign.
Alexander Björk bids farewell to professional golf this week and the Swede will play the opening two rounds of his 179th and final DP World Tour appearance alongside China’s emerging star Wenyi Ding and Freddy Schott, a winner already this year, off the tenth at 07:30.
