Another Marsh from the west making his mark

WA’s Ollie Marsh added two more titles to his burgeoning resumé with victory in significant junior events in South Australia and Tasmania early in 2026.

Marsh’s first piece of silverware came at the South Australian Boys’ Amateur Championship at Kooyonga GC in Adelaide, where he closed with a two-under-par 70 to overturn a three-stroke deficit in the final round.

The 17-year-old Wanneroo GC member reeled in and overtook overnight leader Troy Storm (Singapore) before posting a one-stroke victory over local favourite Alan Xin.

Wanneroo junior Ollie Marsh began 2026 in winning form.

Marsh followed this up tie for third alongside WA state teammate Nate Johnson (Joondalup CC) at the SA Junior Masters at Royal Adelaide before heading off to Tassie for another pair of junior championships.

In the first of these — the Tasmanian Junior Amateur at Ulverston GC —Marsh recorded the second win of his eastern sojourn, rounds of 74, 72 and 71 for a one-over-par total, giving him a three-stroke win over the talented Malachy Marshall.

Capping off a successful trip, Marsh was again in contention at the Tasmania Junior Masters before finishing fourth.

Marsh adds the SA and Tas Junior Amateur crowns to the two WA Junior Amateur titles picked up in 2022 and 2025.

STOP PRESS: In returning a 72-hole total of eight-under par, 10 shots behind runaway winner Billy Dowling, Ollie Marsh finished in a tie for 12th at the Australian Amateur Championship, played at the Western Australian and Wanneroo Golf Clubs.
