Anything you can do …

THE rarest of birds, the albatross, landed not once but twice during the same round at Burleigh Golf Club on the Gold Coast.

Ryan Rodgers, who plays off +1, and seven marker Mike Williams (pictured) achieved the feat just 20 seconds apart at the ninth hole on Thursday, October 20.

Mike picked up five valuable points when his three-wood approach from 234 metres found the bottom of the cup while current club champion Ryan collected four points for his effort from 194 metres courtesy of his trusty four-iron.

It was an incredible achievement from two golfers sharing a golf cart. It was their final hole and they managed to square the side bet with their opponents.

Apparently, the pair walked straight into the clubhouse and put $500 on the bar. By all accounts, it was a great afternoon at the club.

An albatross is even rarer than a hole-in-one. It’s common to see an ace every other week, but a two on a par-5 is indeed rare – six million to one.
