While the wait to hear if LIV Golf 2.0 will take off, there’s some relief for the league’s players following comments from the Asian Tour.
“I think a lot of the LIV players are still keen on playing out on an Asian Tour,” the Asian Tour CEO explained.
“Several LIV players have status on the Asian Tour by winning tournaments over the last few years.
“If players add something to an Asian Tour event we’ll always consider them as sponsor invites and welcome them onto the tour. There’s still going to be an element of LIV players being involved by virtue of invitations as well as tournament categories.”
Unsurprisingly, the Asian setup has had plenty of interest from those on the LIV roster. “I think there’s a lot more of them interested. “They’ve called up and said, ‘hey, do we have [status] on the Asian Tour?’.
“A lot of them weren’t really looking at that over the last four or five years, but now they’re trying to find out what status they have with us so they can plan their schedules.”
