AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University men’s golf team will continue its postseason slate at the 2026 National Golf Invitational, set for May 22-24 at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Arizona.
The National Golf Invitational, presented in partnership with Golfweek, will feature 10 men’s collegiate teams competing in a 54-hole stroke-play event. The tournament is considered a postseason opportunity similar to the NIT in college basketball.
“Obviously, we wanted to be playing in NCAA Regionals next week,” said Director of Golf Steven Paine. “However, a slow start to the fall really put us behind the eight ball. When we got the invite for the NGI in Phoenix next week, we as a staff thought, what a great opportunity to get a head start on next season. We’ll be taking our five returners to the event and are using it as an opportunity to lay the foundation for next year’s group, which we are very high on.”
The 2026 event marks the fourth edition of the National Golf Invitational. Ohio State won the 2025 NGI title.
Augusta will be one of 10 teams in the field and will compete across three rounds beginning Friday, May 22.
