Augusta Women Open Play at Moon Golf Invitational

Melbourne, Fl. — The Augusta women’s golf team is in Melbourne, Fla., competing at the Moon Bay Invitational hosted by the University of Louisville.

After the opening round, the Jaguars sit in 17th place at +28. Florida State leads the field at -2, followed by the University of Central Florida at +3 and Texas A&M and Ole Miss at +4.

The tournament features 10 teams ranked in the top 20 nationally. Sara Adams paced Augusta with a 74 in a round where shooting par proved to be a strong performance. Adams is tied for 29th place, recording three birdies and five bogeys. There is a two-way tie for the top spot at -2, with just 19 golfers at even par or better.

Marine Legentil was the second-lowest Jaguar golfer at +6. Zoe Pinillos made one birdie and finished at +9, while Jessica Pilgrim carded a +11, also recording one birdie.

Round two of the 54-hole tournament will take place Monday, followed by the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
