Some golf training aids are everywhere, constantly advertised and hard to miss. But what are golfers actually buying? We asked the team at GolfTrainingAids.com to share their best-selling training aids under $100. Here they are, ranked with the top seller at No. 1.
1. Divot Board
The Divot Board has been golftrainingaids.com’s top-selling product for three years in a row. When it first came out, I was sent one to test and I was really impressed with it. You get instant feedback, it’s affordable and it held up much better than I thought it would.
I think a lot of golfers struggle with low point and path and grass doesn’t give you the same feedback as the Divot Board does. It’s a good training aid for indoors as well. You don’t need to hit a ball to benefit from it.
2. Impact Bag
An Impact Bag is a great training aid for golfers of any level. This particular one is the original version and it is a few dollars more than some cheap knockoffs and alternatives. This bag takes a beating and you have to go with the original if you want durability.
The Impact Bag is great for working on a better impact position, improving compression and increasing consistency. This has been a top-five bestseller under $100 for 30 years.
3. The Putting Arc
There are two versions of the Putting Arc: the classic MS3D shown above and the T3 which is the travel size. The Putting Arc works for golfers of all ages. In 2023, every winner on the Champions Tour was a Putting Arc user.
I have one of these and it makes a big difference when I use it consistently. It’s amazing what muscle memory can do.
4. Power Shift Board
The Power Shift Board is another popular training aid. This one helps with balance and creating power. I love the concept of the Power Shift Board as it has an audible component that gives instant feedback if you are timing your transition correctly.
I tried the original version of the Power Shift Board and struggled to hear the audio feedback. That issue has been fixed and now the Power Shift Board is working its way up the best-seller list because of its effectiveness.
5. The Distance Builder Warm-Up Trainer
The Distance Builder Warm-Up Trainer is a warm-up and strength training tool. It is two pounds but can go down to one if you take one of the weights off the end. There are dozens of training aids like this one on the market and they all accomplish relatively the same thing but golfers must be using them to make it to fifth place on this list.
6. Home Putt Portable Golf Putting Mat
If you’ve checked pricing on home putting mats, you’ve probably seen that they can range from around $35 to well over $300. This is a simple one that’s currently on sale for $55. It measures one foot by eight feet so it lets you practice all the important putts for scoring.
Golftrainingaids.com told us the reason this one does well is the quality it offers for the fair price.
7. Putting Stick Pro
The Putting Stick Pro is a 46-inch-long putting training aid designed to help golfers improve stroke path and face alignment. It features a built-in eye alignment mirror and a small ramp to easily place a ball on the stick.
An adjustable stop helps monitor backswing length and the narrow track provides instant feedback on face angle and stroke accuracy. If you’re serious about working on your putting stroke, this training aid gives you what you need to get it done.
8. The Connector
I have a Connector training aid and I like it more than I thought I would. While it’s designed to help with the full swing and getting the arms and body to work well together, I really like it as a short-game tool as well.
It just fits under our $100 price cap for this list and I think that’s what has pushed it to 8/10 on the list. It’s probably a little expensive for what it offers but it is effective.
9. Swing Plate
If you’re tired of trying to get an alignment stick in the ground at just the right angle to work on your swing plane, the Swing Plate could be a good training tool for you. This is one of the best swing plane trainers on the market because it just makes sense.
In addition, you can add the putting plate to this to make it an all-around practice tool. My favorite thing about the Swing Plate is the ability to work on many different drills and the setup is done in seconds.
10. Stance Towel
The Stance Towel is a new training aid that has done well this year. If you are still struggling with ball placement in your golf swing, this is a good place to start. It doubles as a traditional golf towel so it’s a practice training aid.
I love this one as a perfect gift for a beginner golfer
Final thoughts
Knowing which training aids other golfers actually use can be a helpful way to figure out what really works. Before you buy, think about where and when you’ll use it. If it’s not portable, there’s a good chance it’ll be left at home when you head to the course. Some aids are perfect for at-home practice while others are better suited for warming up before a round. Don’t just focus on what the aid is designed to fix. Also consider how it fits into your routine. That alone can help you avoid wasting money.
