Bettinardi and Goose Island Brewing are teaming up to bring some co-branded golf gear and a bit of late summer fun to the Chicago area. Their new 312 Beer Collection celebrates the accomplishments and Chicago origins of both companies
It also packs plenty of yellow.
If you are curious about the “312” moniker, that is the area code for downtown Chicago and the name of a popular Goose Island beer.
By the way, if you live in Chicago but your phone has a 773 or 872 area code, you can still take part in this collaborative release.
Most of the collaborations between Bettinardi and other companies result in a batch of limited-edition co-branded golf items. This collaboration is no exception. How cool is that texture on the headcover?
However, this time around, those of you in the Chicago area will also have the opportunity to attend a fun Bettinardi/Goose Island event.
312 yellow things
Most of the golf items in the Bettinardi x Goose Island 312 Beer collaboration are bright yellow. The color scheme matches the design on the Goose Island 312 Beer.
The release includes headcovers for putters and woods along with some classic Bettinardi metal tools. I love the bottle cap ball marker.
There will also be two limited-edition collaborative putters but those are still under wraps.
Things and Swings
In addition to producing the new co-branded gear, Bettinardi and Goose Island will be hosting an event in Chicago on Oct. 1. The Chicago Chipping Challenge will take place at the Goose Island Salt Shed Pub.
Here are the details:
The one-day event will bring together Chicago golfers and beer drinkers for a precision chipping competition. Guests will compete using Bettinardi wedges on a custom-built chipping pop-up featuring realistic landscaping, hazards and targeted shots designed to transform the Salt Shed Pub into a uniquely Chicago golf experience.
Contestants will have the opportunity to compete to win numerous prizes including beer money for a year*, golf for an entire summer and select items from the Bettinardi x 312 Beer Collection including the first-run putter and exclusive headcovers.
By the way, beer money for a year equates to a $312 gift card, enough to buy a case of Goose Island 312 every month for 12 months. If you buy 12 cases in the first month, I’ll not judge you, but I may head over to help you finish those cans.

Have fun chipping in the Windy City
The chipping contest is a Chicago thing, unfortunately. I wish that I lived closer to Chicago so I could attend. It sounds like a blast and I want to see how Bettinardi made the various chipping terrains.
Should my short-game skills go rogue, I would happily drown my sorrows in one of Goose Island’s many beer options.
Truth be told, I’ve only had their Goose IPA and Bourbon County beers. I always look forward to the new Bourbon County releases. Maybe not the new Apple-Crisp flavored 2026 version. That sounds potentially tasty but also a bit sketchy.
I’m really curious about their other beers. Regional beers are one of the things I look forward to when traveling.
I’m also curious about the presence of Goose Island Brewery beers in your area. Are they a major player? In my home state of California, I would say that the major breweries these days are Sierra Nevada and Firestone-Walker.
I know Goose Island was purchased by Anheuser-Busch InBev in 2011, making them technically ‘Big Beer.” They still seem very regional to me, like Sierra Nevada or Yuengling.
Am I correct in that assumption?
Back to the Bettinardi side of things, are there any of these 312 Beer items that flights your fancy? I wonder if the 312 theme will resonate with the golfing population who live outside of the 312 Beer distribution range.
Odds are that there are enough Bettinardi and Goose Island fans in the Chicago area to sell out the release. It just seems narrower in consumer scope than usual for a collaboration.
However, beer drinkers are known for hunting down beers and merchandise from non-local breweries. Maybe that makes the release even cooler.
