Scottie Scheffler again proved why he’s the most dominant force in golf by stealing the 2025 BMW Championship from Robert MacIntyre, who looked destined to triumph at Caves Valley Golf Club.
The Texan started Sunday four strokes adrift from the Scottish leader, but a composed final round three under 69 was enough to overturn the deficit.
And comebacks like this are just what we’ve come to expect from the world number one, who’s added his fifth event win to his double Major-winning 2025 season.
MacIntyre has been truly dominant all weekend, but a nervy three-over-par final round was not what he needed, especially with the form player of the past two seasons breathing down his neck.
He had to settle for a solo second as runner-up, but with it a $2.16 million cheque – a career best.
Scheffler was already clear at the top of the FedEx Cup standings but has confirmed his place at the summit ahead of the season-ending Tour Championship next week.
Another strong finish for Tommy Fleetwood
Below the leading pair, Maverick McNealy managed third place at 11 under par while Sam Burns tied for fourth with Tommy Fleetwood, who has produced a top-five finish in both of the 2025 FedEx Cup Playoff events.
The Englishman is still striving for a first PGA Tour win after falling agonisingly short twice this year; however, his strong form will fill him with confidence ahead of the final Playoff at East Lake.
Harry Hall sneaks into FedEx Cup Top 30 for Tour Championship, Rickie Fowler misses out
Harry Hall has been quietly consistent with a solo sixth place, moving him into 26th and inside the top 30 who qualify for the Tour Championship.
He’s another Englishman with growing potential, and despite being a lesser-known figure, he will battle it out for Playoff glory and the $10 million individual prize next week.
Meanwhile, Rickie Fowler faltered to tie for seventh after a poor back nine and will miss out on the grand finale as he fell outside the top 30.
