Bo Blanchard Wins the Georgia Amateur Championship

ATLANTA, Ga. – Augusta University’s Bo Blanchard II won the 104th Georgia Amateur Championship Sunday afternoon at Atlanta Country Club in Atlanta, Ga. Blanchard finished at 16-under-par, good enough for a three-shot victory.

Blanchard, from Columbus, Ga., shot rounds of 71-67-67-67 for the winning score. He grabbed the lead in the third round and then made five birdies Sunday to claim the victory over Jack Schoenberber of Milton, Ga. In his final round, Blanchard birdied no. 2 before making four straight pars. He would then add consecutive birdies on no.7 and no. 8. Over the final nine holes, he would make birdies on no. 11 and then on no. 18 to seal the victory.

The rising senior is coming off his first year with the Jaguars and posted a 70.6 scoring average and was named the Southland Conference golfer of the year after winning the conference tournament.

Mason Fundingsland also made the cut at the Georgia Amateur and finished in a tie for 45th. Chapman Barnett did not make the cut in the event.
