DALLAS – Senior Claes Borregaard secured his Conference USA Men’s Golfer of the Week award after collecting a tied for third-place finish at J.T. Poston Invitational, the conference announced Wednesday.
He carded rounds of 72-62-71 for a 5-under par total of 205. His 8-under par round of 62 set a school record on a par-70 course and tied for the lowest under-par score in any round in program history. His 36-hole total score of 6-under par 134 also established a new school record on a par-70 course. His 54-hole score of 5-under 205 ranks second in program history on a par-70 course. The Smorum, Denmark native guided KSU to a second-place finish in the event.
The is his first Conference USA Golfer of the Week honor.
KSU will head to Lexington, Ky. for the Cullan Brown Collegiate on Oct 7-8.
