The Presidents Cup returns this week, with the world’s top golfers set to compete in the 16th edition of the biennial team event at Medinah Country Club in Chicago from Sept. 24-27.
The Canadian connection
Corey Conners of Listowel, Ont., will make his third consecutive Presidents Cup appearance after being selected by International Team captain Geoff Ogilvy. Conners previously competed in 2022 at Quail Hollow Club and in 2024 at Royal Montreal Golf Club. He has earned five Presidents Cup points over his first two appearances.
Joining Conners is Abbotsford, B.C., native Nick Taylor, who will make his Presidents Cup debut. A five-time PGA Tour winner and 2023 RBC Canadian Open champion, Taylor was selected as one of Ogilvy’s six captain’s picks.
Richmond Hill, Ont., native Taylor Pendrith will also be part of the International Team setup, serving as an assistant captain alongside Trevor Immelman, Camilo Villegas and Tim Clark. Pendrith competed in the 2022 and 2024 Presidents Cups, earning two points for the International Team in Montreal. He becomes just the second Canadian to serve as an assistant captain, following Mike Weir.
