Casandra Alexander secured the 2026 Ladies European Tour (LET) Order of Merit title after triumphing at the 2026 Wistron Ladies Open.
The South African star held a 1,270.78-point lead over Canada’s Anna Huang and 1,355.98-point lead over Australia’s Kelsey Bennett heading into the event held at Sunrise Golf and Country Club.
Following her three-stroke victory at the Wistron Ladies Open, Alexander now has an unassailable 1,770.78-point lead with just two events of the 2026 LET season remaining.
The 27-year-old becomes the second South African to win the title following in the footsteps of Lee-Anne Pace, who won in 2010.
“I’m really happy to win the Order of Merit now. Going into today’s round, I knew I didn’t have to win, and I wanted to make that clear to myself that I didn’t have to, but I really wanted to,” said Alexander.
“We don’t come to golf tournaments to come top five. Sometimes, top five is a great result, but we come to win golf tournaments and that fine line that I had just took me over the edge.”
This is Alexander’s seventh season on Tour, as she joined the LET in January 2020 after finishing in eighth place at LET Q-School.
The South African secured her breakthrough victory in 2025 winning the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open with a stunning final round of 62 (-10).
In 2026, Alexander has been the model of consistency recording five runner-up finishes in the early part of the season, alongside four further top-10 results.
Having led the Order of Merit since May, Alexander secured her first victory of the 2026 LET season at the KPMG Women’s Irish Open at the K Club.
She now has three victories in five events following her triumphs at the Buccellati Ladies Italian Open in September and last week’s Wistron Ladies Open.
“We got the result we wanted. I probably would not have a pinched neck on Friday morning, it would have helped me out a little bit, but we still got the job done. I’m pretty chuffed with the work that I’ve done with my team,” she continued.
“A lot of people see the wins like this, but they don’t see the hard work that gets put in behind the scenes. My coach Grant Veenstra has been at home grafting with me, it’s a team effort and it’s a team win. It’s really nice to get it over the line for them.
“It just gives us some confidence going into next week. I spoke about it before we teed off that I really like the golf course next week. I think it’s going to be absolutely scorching hot.
“That’s going to be tough conditions and a new challenge. I have no pressure going into it, but at the same time no pressure gives me a big advantage over other players that are maybe expecting to win. We have some good players coming out, I’m looking forward to it.”
Alexander was congratulated by LET CEO Tom Phillips on Sunday with the full presentation of the Order of Merit trophy happening at the season-ending Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España presented by OYSHO in November.
The LET now finishes its Asian swing in Shenzhen, China for the Aramco China Championship held at Mission Hills from November 5-8.
