Filed under Predictable Things, COBRA has re-released a limited run of its 3D-printed LIMIT3D irons.
The original run was limited to 500 individually numbered sets. According to COBRA, despite the $3000 price tag, the original batch sold out within hours.
The fresh batch won’t be numbered.
Why 3D Printed
You’ll find a full rundown of the irons and the technology that powers them here, but the key takeaway is that 3D printing allows for the creation of complex structures that are simply not possible with conventional manufacturing methods like forging, casting, and even milling.
The internal lattice structures of the LIMIT3D irons allow for a full third of the clubhead’s weight to be repositioned to areas where it can improve performance.
3D printing also yields greater consistency from part to part.
What we’re talking about here is a club that looks like a blade (more accurately, a compact players iron), with the stability and forgiveness of a game-improvement iron.
Specs, Pricing and Availability
The retail price for COBRA LIMIT3D 3D-printed irons is $3,000 for 4-PW. This is a completely custom offering, which means you can choose from a wide selection of shafts and grips.
The bad news is that COBRA LIMIT3D irons are available in RH-only, and will be available in the US only through the COBRA website and select fitting accounts.
Availability begins August 16.
