The inaugural Compleat Golfer Legends Cup has some of the best sporting legends taking to Pearl Valley to settle the score: which sport has the best golfers.
It’s Rugby vs Soccer vs Cricket at Pearl Valley Golf Estate next week – but who will be victorious over the two-day Ryder Cup style battle.
Rugby will be led by John Smit, the 2007 World Cup winning captain who has a strong lineup heading to the winelands. Smit has called upon Fourie Du Preez, Schalk Brits, Ryan Kankowski, Steven Kitshoff and Pat Lambie to prove the Bokke are the best.
Bafana Bafana legends include Neil Tovey, Bongani Khumalo, Mark Williams, Shaun Bartlett, Jimmy Tau, Brian Baloyi and Fabian McCarthy. They will be led into the contest by Stanton Fredericks and are promising to show the other sporting codes that they are indeed the sport with the BMT for this occasion.
Pat Symcox has been named as captain for the former cricket internationals with a side looking sharp following the confirmation that
Barry Richards, Jacques Kallis, Mark Boucher, Vernon Philander, Morne Morkel and Craig Mathews will be facing guard against their fellow legends.
