Taylor Pendrith will serve as an assistant captain to Geoff Ogilvy in Chicago
PONTE VEDRA, Fla. – Corey Conners and Nick Taylor were named to the International Team as captain’s picks by International Team Captain Geoff Ogilvy ahead of the 2026 Presidents Cup at the PGA TOUR Studios in Ponte Vedra, Fla. on Tuesday.
Conners of Listowel, Ont. will be making his third consecutive appearance at the Presidents Cup having previously competed for the International Team in 2022 at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, N.C. and in 2024 at The Royal Montreal Golf Club in Montreal, Que. Conners finished with a record of 2-3-0 earning two points for the team including a 5 and 3 singles win over Tony Finau and a 6 and 5 Foursomes win alongside Mackenzie Hughes over Wyndham Clark and Tony Finau in Montreal. Conners narrowly missed out on automatic qualification, finishing the season long point standings in seventh.
Taylor of Abbotsford, B.C. will be making his first appearance at the Presidents Cup. The 2023 RBC Canadian Open winner is a five-time winner on the PGA TOUR and finished 13th on the point standings for the International Team. Taylor and Conners last competed together representing Canada at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, where Conners finished T9 and Taylor, T30.
Joining Conners and Taylor are Nico Echavarria (Colombia), Sungjae Im (Republic of Korea), Ryo Hisatsune (Japan) and Christiaan Bezuidenhout (South Africa) who were also named as captain’s picks on Tuesday.
The group joins the six players already qualified for the International Team including, Si Woo Kim (Republic of Korea), 2025 RBC Canadian Open winner and 2026 Open Championship winner Ryan Fox (New Zealand), Hideki Matsuyama (Japan), Min Woo Lee (Australia), Tom Kim (Republic of Korea) and Adam Scott (Australia).
Last week, Taylor Pendrith of Richmond Hill, Ont. was named as an assistant captain for the International Team joining Trevor Immelman (South Africa), Camilo Villegas (Colombia) and Tim Clark (South Africa). Pendrith previously competed in the 2022 and 2024 Presidents Cups, earning two points for the International Team in Montreal. Pendrith becomes the second Canadian to serve as assistant captain, with Mike Weir previously serving in 2019 and 2022 before captaining the International Team in 2024.
The U.S. Team is led by captain and 2013 RBC Canadian Open winner, Brandt Snedeker with assistant captains Gary Woodland, Webb Simpson, Keegan Bradley and two-time RBC Canadian Open winner (2006, 2007) Jim Furyk.
Representing the U.S. are Scottie Scheffler, Cameron Young, Wyndham Clark, Sam Burns, Russell Henley, Collin Morikawa and captain’s picks, Chris Gotterup, Xander Schauffele, Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay, Jacob Bridgeman and Jackson Koivun.
The U.S. Team has won 13 times in tournament history, with the lone International Team win coming in 1998. The teams shared the trophy following a tie in 2003.
