Since 1994, the Counterstroke Golf Classic has brought together golfers from across Australia for a unique blend of sport, camaraderie, and giving back.
The three-day tournament played on the Mornington Peninsula, gives participants the flexibility to play one, two, or all three days across three of the region’s premier golf courses; Moonah Links (Legends course), The Dunes and Sorrento Golf Club.
Participants enjoy a shotgun start, 4BBB, on-course challenges, lunch, and a post-round presentation.
Running in conjunction with the Tamie Fraser Shield (at Moonah) and also the prestigious Sir John Holland Cup, the event combines friendly competition with a shared purpose, raising awareness and funds for the Stroke Foundation.

The Legends course at Moonah Links hosts one of the three rounds of the Counterstroke Golf Classic.
Stroke Foundation CEO, Dr Lisa Murphy says; “The Counterstroke Golf Classic is a wonderful example of people coming together for a great day while supporting a cause that truly matters.
“The energy, generosity, and community spirit behind these events help us with our vision of fewer strokes, better outcomes and providing support and care for all affected by stroke across Australia.”
Funds raised go directly to vital research, education, and survivor programs, empowering families and improving outcomes.
Over three decades, the event has grown into a highlight of the golfing calendar. Spaces are limited, so golfers are encouraged to register early to secure their spot for this memorable and meaningful event.
