Custom fit timelines: emea update

Delivery data from January –  September 2021 highlights that the lengthened lead-times for Mizuno custom fit equipment announced post COVID lockdown have yet to significantly change.  A variety of issues have impacted lead times over the period – from  component shortages to shipping difficulties.

Mizuno is still advising golfers and fitters to be prepared for a 90 day wait on any new custom deliveries.  From January – October 2021 Mizuno’s record for dispatching custom golf clubs from receiving orders was;

  • 23% within 30 days of order.
  • 74% within 60 days of order.
  • 92% within 90 days of order.
  • 99% within 120 days of order.

Most players can realistically expect to receive their equipment within 60 days of their retailer placing an order – but we still need to warn that it could take upto 90 days depending on the combination of head, shaft and grip.

We recognise that this isn’t ideal – but it does reflect the industry and probably world as a whole at the moment.  We’ve all had to learn to adjust our expectations over the last 18 months in all areas of life.  People are increasingly understanding of the challenges the industry is facing and we’re very grateful for that.  We ask that players contact their retailer / fitter for any updates on their order and we will do our best to make sure they have the best information available to us.

Rob Jackson – Head of Golf EMEA.

Mizuno announced in September that the much anticipated release if its Mizuno Pro irons had been held back until early 2022 – to allow shaft and grip stock to be allocated to existing orders.
