DeChambeau secures Ryder Cup spot

Bryson DeChambeau booked his place on the US Ryder Cup team alongside Russell Henley and Harris English after the BMW Championship, the final qualifying event for American players.

The trio joined world No 1 Scottie Scheffler, US Open champion JJ Spaun and two-time Major winner Xander Schauffele, who had already secured their berths through the points standings.

Scheffler, who claimed his fifth victory of the season at the BMW, will contest his third Ryder Cup with a 2-2-3 record. Spaun and Henley are set for their debuts, while Schauffele – the 2025 Open and PGA champion – holds a 4-4-0 mark from two previous appearances.

English returns for his second Ryder Cup after contributing a 1-2-0 record to the victorious US team at Whistling Straits in 2021.

DeChambeau, a two-time US Open winner who captured this year’s LIV Golf Korea title, will feature for the third time. He brings a 2-3-1 record into the matches against Europe at Bethpage Black next month.

US captain Keegan Bradley will round out the 12-man squad with six captain’s picks to be announced on 27 August, with speculation mounting over whether he might select himself.
