Detry on LIV leaks: “Rat in the Whatsapp group”

Thomas Detry has lifted the lid on the leaks coming from LIV Golf insisting that there’s a “rat” in the group sharing confidential updates.

“We’ve got a player group chat. It seems like there’s a rat in there,” the Belgian told Today’s Golfer ahead of the DP World Tour’s PGA Championship.

“It seems like we’re just trying to keep all the stuff between us and it seems like most of the stuff is being released out there all the time quite quickly. So it’s not easy to keep confidential things confidential.

“But they’ve (LIV) really improved with the communications.”

Detry is hopeful that they have gotten to the bottom of the issue.

“We’re trying to keep something confidential in the group,” said Detry.

“And the idea that someone might transfer it to the media, to someone else, is not really fun to know.”

But the Belgian is determined to make it work at LIV.

“Obviously, they’ve made some mistakes with LIV 1.0, and hopefully, they can rectify that and work on it,” added Detry.

“I would love to stay. I really enjoy LIV. But we’ll see what happens.

“If you told me now that I could play anywhere in the world and LIV, I would be 100% in for LIV and fill in my schedule with some majors and DP World Tour events.

“That would be my dream. I’d be delighted to play there.”
