The DP World Tour has started to notify LIV Golfers that conditional releases will be ending at the conclusion of the 2026 season.
According to reports, “heavy’” fines and suspensions set to be re-introduced adding more stress to the ongoing situation.
With LIV Golf still facing an uncertain future, the move applies new pressure on LIV players who were looking to play on multiple tours.
This new move comes after the DP World Tour allowed LIV Golf players to continue playing in LIV Golf events for the entire season without facing any further fines or sanctions. The agreement only applied to 2026 and was not “precedent-setting” – and that now appears to be the case.
The players who originally agreed to the deal were: Laurie Canter, Thomas Detry, Tyrrell Hatton, Tom McKibbin, Adrian Meronk, Victor Perez, David Puig and Elvis Smylie.
It remains to be seen what the Southern Guards players do as a result of this new twist.
