Du Plessis fires second round worth $100 000

Hennie du Plessis fired a second round 63 to set the new course record at Stellenbosch Golf Club and could be in line for a massive payday.

During the DP World Tour season, there has been a $10 000 prize for any player that breaks the course record. So far, this prize has gone unclaimed but it will definitely be handed out this week at the Investec SA Open.

The upside for Du Plessis is that with each passing event, the pot grew by $10 000 and thus he will walk away R1 590 000 richer if his second round score survives with 36 holes to play.
