Dun Laoghaire Golf Club is expecting another bumper field when it hosts the fourth staging of its annual 54-hole men’s and women’s Senior Scratch Cups from September 5-6.
Sponsored by Hendrick Hotels and EUDIA, there will be a generous €4,000 prize fund with €800 awarded to the winners of the respective men’s and women’s events.
The runners-up will each receive €400.
Dun Laoghaire recently hosted the Irish Seniors Close and Open for men and women with a quality field and outstanding winners in Galway’s Joe Lyons and Canada’s Judith Kyrinis.

“I was really bowled over by Dun Laoghaire Golf Club this week,” Lyons said after becoming the first player to win all three Irish Senior Men’s Amateur Championships.
The club will also host the KPMG Irish Women’s Open in August 2027.
“Our scratch cups have some top-class Irish past champions, and again this September we hope to crown two more worthy winners,” said 2026 men’s Captain, David Varian.
“Our course is playing tremendously well and will offer a great test for the players.
“We had great feedback when we hosted the Irish Seniors for Men and Women at the beginning of July”
As a 54-hole scratch cup, the event qualifies for WAGR points for both men and women and it also remains a key event in the women’s Order of Merit for 2026.
Beth Mason, Captain of the Ladies’ Club, added: “We hope to see a large field of ladies competing in our Scratch Cups in September.
“Set on the magnificent Dun Laoghaire golf course, which will host the KPMG Ladies Irish Open in 2027, this prestigious event offers competitors the opportunity to earn Order of Merit (OOM) and WAGR points. Previous winners have included Irish Internationals, reflecting the high standard of competition.”
The field will play 36 holes on Saturday, September 5, with the top 30 qualifying for the final 18 holes on Sunday, September 6.
