Maybe it’s just me, but is there more than a touch of irony in a limited-edition driver collaboration with a brand whose entire being is dedicated to those who love the woods?
I guess that would depend on what kind of woods we’re talking about: the metal kind used to hit golf balls or the forest-y kind where you go looking for those golf balls.
All kidding aside, this new COBRA x Realtree Limited Edition OPTM driver knocks it straight in the lumber yard for all of us outdoor enthusiasts.
COBRA x Realtree Driver: Prime OPTM
This is COBRA’s third limited-edition driver drop this month. We’ve already seen the annual Arnold Palmer/Bay Hill model as well as the now-traditional COBRA x Palm Tree Crew Collab. This new collaboration with Realtree follows the same blueprint, featuring the new COBRA OPTM X driver all dressed up in just enough camo to be stealthy but with the right amount of orange to keep from getting mistaken for a deer.
“The OPTM X driver is built for precision and performance,” says COBRA VP of Product Architecture Jose Miraflow. “Now it features Realtree’s iconic camo pattern for golfers who love the woods but prefer to keep their golf balls out of them.”
I’m glad Jose made that joke. Now I don’t have to.
Remember, these are for fun
Limited-edition drops and collaborations like this one are all about fun. There’s nothing different about the club itself other than its outerwear. COBRA is the master at these limited editions. Speaking of which, we can only hope the Realtree collab doesn’t preclude an Augusta/Masters-themed driver. That’s usually when COBRA gives us a masterpiece.
We can expect a limited-edition collab with Volition America sometime in May. COBRA also offers a variety of fun and first-class headcover drops throughout the year. Those usually focus on majors (last year’s PGA Championship edition was spectacular). Sometimes, it’s unconventional, like last year’s collab with Chipotle.
The COBRA x Realtree Limited Edition OPTM X driver comes in a 10.5-degree, right-handed head only. It includes a limited-edition headcover and comes with a Mitsubishi 1k Tensei Black shaft.
