The R&A are keeping an eye on England’s World Cup run as it has the potential to interfere with the running time of The Open.
Tee times for the final round of The Open on 19 July are now dependant on how Harry Kane’s Three Lions fare in the US.
The final round at Birkdale is due to start at 2.30pm but the World Cup final being played at 8pm provides a headache.
The London Times says the R&A could move up starting times for the final round of The Open should England make it to the World Cup final on the same day.
Of course there is a long way to go with England set for their quarter-final against Norway on Saturday.
