Five “Golf” Style Pieces I’m Weirdly Obsessed With Right Now

As MyGolfSpy’s resident style expert, I’ve made it pretty clear that I believe looking good should be a priority on the golf course. For me, good golf style lives at the intersection of timeless and sporty—pieces that feel classic, perform when they need to, and don’t look dated a season later. I’m always refining that balance, and every now and then, a few items jump out and earn a permanent spot in the rotation. These are three golf style pieces I stumbled across this week that I’m weirdly obsessed with right now.

Melin Coast Hydro Visor

On course, I’m a visor guy. I’ll admit, for the longest time, I was an Imperial purist, but I’ve recently come upon Melin, and I just might be a convert. Where Imperial is the traditional golf visor, the Melin Coast Hyrdro bridges the gap between tradition and sport in the way I’m constantly looking for. I also like the profile of this visor a lot. It’s sleek, and doesn’t look awkward on-head like a lot of other visors do. It’s on the pricier side, but I firmly believe it’s worth it.

Holderness & Bourne Ward Crewneck Sweater

This sweater is awesome. It’s that simple. The jacquard pattern on the Holderness & Bourne Ward Crewneck is concomitantly subtle and striking— the definition of understated elegance. I get Keith Mitchell vibes from this sweater, and if given the option, always try to be more like Keith Mitchell. You can wear this anywhere and easily look like the coolest, best-dressed guy on the planet.

G/FORE MG4+ O2 G/LOCK Spiked Golf Shoes

The MG4 O2/LOCK is not a “new” shoe from G/FORE, but this colorway certainly is. I love everything about this shoe. While it’s on the modern side, the MG4 O2/LOCK screams athletic golf. I am guilty of wearing my On Cloudmonsters with a sweater, button down shirt, and shorts way more than I probably should, and these perfectly capture that essence on the golf course. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I love G/FORE. Simply put: these shoes are legit.

Uniqlo Leather Combination Striped Belt

Belts, let alone golf belts are ridiculously expensive nowadays. This leather combination striped belt is from another one of my favorite brands, Uniqlo. I started shopping at Uniqlo when I was in college, and I can honestly say that I haven’t bought a bad thing there. If you didn’t know, I’m a huge fan of their golf polos and sweaters, and this belt is no different. If you want to look old-school Brooks Brothers cool, for less than $30, this belt let’s you do it.

Timex Marlin® Quartz GMT

I love nothing more than seeing all of the PGA Tour Players’ Rolexes and Omegas, but I’m not a pro golfer, and I think my wife would kill me if I bought a $5K watch. That being said, you don’t need to spend thousands to get a nice watch, but you can with a couple hundred. That’s what I love so much about Timex. If you didn’t know, for over 170 years, Timex has been making quality watches that punch way above their weight class, and I speak from personal experience. Right now, the Timex Marlin Quartz GMT is my favorite watch, and it’s not close. It would look perfectly at home in the ’60s and looks perfectly at home today.
