When the FootJoy Pro/SL won our men’s spikeless shoe test for 2026, I was waiting for the women’s version to come out.
I’ve tested a lot of women’s golf shoes this year and spikeless shoes have been a big part of that. Some are more streetwear-inspired. Others look good but feel a little too casual when you start swinging.
The FootJoy Women’s Pro/SL felt different.
After five rounds of golf and quite a few practice sessions, this is what stood out.
The closest spikeless shoe to a spiked shoe
The biggest thing for me was traction.
I knew the Pro/SL was spikeless but halfway through one of my rounds, I checked the bottom of the shoe just to make sure. That’s how much grip it had.
This is the closest spikeless shoe to a spiked shoe that I’ve tested this year. I felt stable on full swings, uneven lies and even when the turf was a little soft. There was none of that subtle sliding or shifting that can happen with some spikeless golf shoes.
FootJoy uses its ARCTrax/SL outsole technology in this shoe and it does exactly what a performance spikeless outsole should do. You get the convenience of spikeless without feeling like you gave up traction.
Comfortable but not too soft
FootJoy calls the cushioning in the Pro/SL moderate and I’d agree with that.
This is not a super-soft, pillow-like golf shoe. There is a little firmness to it which I like. It gives the shoe a more connected-to-the-ground feel and I think that matters if you care about stability through the swing.
I would have no issue walking 18 holes in these. They were comfortable for me over five rounds and several practice sessions and I never felt like I was wearing a shoe that was built only for cart golf.
One fit note to keep in mind
The Pro/SL Women’s shoe did feel a little narrow to me.
It wasn’t uncomfortable but if you typically need extra room in the forefoot, this is something to pay attention to. FootJoy does offer medium and wide widths so I’d consider the wide if you’re between sizes or usually feel squeezed in more athletic-style shoes.
Performance without the bulk
I tested the Arctic White/Glacier Steel Blue pair and I really liked the look.
It has the technology and structure I want in a performance golf shoe but it doesn’t look bulky. That’s not always easy to find in women’s golf shoes. Some performance models can look a little heavy and some of the sleeker styles don’t always give you enough support.
The Pro/SL sits in a nice middle ground.
Final thoughts
This is a performance-first spikeless golf shoe. It has the traction, stability and comfort to work for walking rounds, practice sessions and serious golf. If you want a spikeless shoe that still feels close to a spiked model, this is one of the best women’s options I’ve tested in 2026.
