Former Owl Caldwell Young Earns LPGA Card for 2025

KENNESAW, Ga. – Former Kennesaw State women’s golf standout Madison Caldwell Young earned her 2025 Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) tour card on Sunday with her finish on the Epson Tour Race for the Card rankings. She becomes the first Owl in program history to earn her card.

Caldwell Young clinched her tour membership for 2025 with a tied-for-sixth finish at the Epson Tour Championship in Indian Wells, Calif., carding a 13-under par for the tournament, thanks largely to a blistering Round 3 that saw her gain six strokes as part of a 65-69 final two rounds.

“It means a lot. It means everything,” Caldwell Young said after finishing Sunday. “I mean, we have been through so much. So I’m really excited to finally have done it. I don’t know if I ever would. I knew I could. I don’t know if it would ever actually happen, but I’m happy that it did.”

Finishing No. 9 in the Race for the Card (1,153.549 points) in her best season on Tour yet, Caldwell Young got her first professional victory at the 2024 Casino Del Sol Golf Classic and added three more top-10 finishes to her resume. Her top-10 finishes include top-5 results at the 2024 Carlisle Arizona Women’s Golf Classic and the 2024 Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout.

Caldwell Young spent more than two years with Kennesaw State, foregoing her spring senior season to turn professional and begin her journey to the LPGA. As a junior, the Dawsonville, Ga. Native was named the ASUN Golfer of the Year, playing in all 12 of the team’s tournaments and leading the Owls with a scoring average of 73.47. She would win the ASUN Championship with rounds of 76-69 for a 1-over par total of 145.
