United States Ryder Cup Captain Jim Furyk last night named Stewart Cink and Justin Leonard as two of his Vice Captains for the 47th Ryder Cup at Adare Manor.
This marks Cink’s second stint as a Ryder Cup Vice Captain while Leonard will serve as a Vice Captain for the first time. Additional Vice Captains will be announced at a later date.
“Adding Stewart and Justin to our leadership team is a crucial step as we prepare for Adare Manor in 2027,” said Furyk.
“Both have played vital roles on past U.S. Ryder Cup Teams and will bring exceptional expertise and passion to our team room. Together, we are focused on our collective goal of winning back the Ryder Cup in Ireland.”
The 52-year-old Cink played in five consecutive Ryder Cups (2002-10), helping the U.S. team win in 2008 at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky. He served as a Vice Captain in 2023 at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in Rome, Italy.
The Florence, Alabama, native is an eight-time winner on the PGA TOUR and captured The Open Championship in 2009.
Additionally, Cink has won seven times on PGA TOUR Champions, with his most recent victory coming at the 2026 Senior PGA Championship at The Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Florida. Cink played for the U.S. Team in four Presidents Cups (2000, ‘05, ‘07, ‘09) and was a captain’s assistant to Furyk in 2024.
“I could not be more excited for the opportunity to join Jim’s team and represent the United States in the 2027 Ryder Cup,” said Cink.
“The matches in Ireland next year will be a significant test, and we are ready to meet it head-on. Under Jim’s leadership, I know we will be prepared and ready to reclaim the Cup at Adare Manor.”
The 53-year-old Leonard played in three Ryder Cups (1997, ‘99, 2008), helping the Americans to victory in 1999 at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts, and in 2008 at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky.
In 1999, Leonard holed a 45-foot birdie putt to halve his match with José María Olazábal on the 17th hole and secure an American victory.
“I am truly honored to be chosen as one of Jim’s Vice Captains for the 2027 Ryder Cup,” said Leonard. “The Ryder Cup provided many of the greatest moments of my career and I am eager to jump in and help our team as we prepare for Ireland.”
The Dallas, Texas, native has totaled 12 career wins in 591 career starts on the PGA TOUR.
He won the 1997 Open Championship and is also a two-time winner on PGA TOUR Champions.
Leonard represented the U.S. in five Presidents Cups (1996, ‘98, ‘03, ‘05, ‘09) and served as a captain’s assistant under Furyk in 2024.
