Royal Birkdale will host The Open for the 11th time – take a look at the course which is built around the towering dunes near Southport.
Opened in 1934 and granted “Royal” status in 1951, it is second only to St. Andrews as a host.
Unlike most links courses, Birkdale’s clean layout offers a rare familiarity, a true level playing field where only the sharpest games prevail.
