Here’s a cool golf format that brings golfers of all levels into the action.
Bingo Bango Bongo is a silly name, but a simple game. And we’ve had a stack of fun with this, p[articular with new golfers.
A point is given to the first golfer who lands their ball on the green – BINGO. Another point is awarded to the golfer who is closest to the pin once all golf balls are on the green – BANGO. One more point is awarded for the first golfer to their ball in the hole – BONGO.
The game can be played with any number of golfers but you must be strict in terms of who plays first.
Obviously, the golfer who lands their ball on the green from the furthest away gets the first point. The same goes for the last point for sinking the putt.
It means the focus on the game is really on the short game, so the advantage of experienced golfers and longer hitters is diluted somewhat.
But it tends to bring a smile to the faces of new golfers while teaching them the basics about the order of play.
