When I’m not golfing, there’s a decent chance I’m chasing a trophy cat on a river near my house.
Fishing is one of the hobbies that is consistently paired with golf. A fishing trip might feature a round or two of golf just like a golf trip might include a quick jaunt to the lake.
Golfish takes both passions and meshes them into one, focusing on creating apparel that can serve a purpose on the links or on the lake. If you’ve been searching for something that can give you the best of both worlds, Golfish might be just what the doctor ordered.
I had the opportunity to test out a few different pieces from Golfish and it’s safe to say that I’m a fan.
Golfish Clubhouse Polo
The Golfish Clubhouse Polo is 95 percent polyester and five percent Spandex.
Of the Golfish gear I tested, the polo was by far the most “average” piece. The Clubhouse Polo isn’t bad—it’s just like the majority of other polos that I own (there wasn’t anything that set it apart). I have a few polos that I praise consistently due to style, fit or other reasons and the Clubhouse Polo doesn’t keep up with my top shelf.
That being said, it’s not a bad polo. I know I speak for a lot of people when I say that polo prices need to come down. The Clubhouse Polo is no exception at $82 (this is a shot at the industry, not Golfish specifically).
Golfish Stanwich Stretch Golf Belt
Maybe I’m a newbie but the Golfish belts worked in a unique way.
The little pin that typically goes into a specific belt hole to determine tightness could be pushed into any part of the belt due to its woven design. Some belts have a hole only every inch or two which can lead to a golfer settling for too tight or too loose of a fit.
The Golfish Stanwich Stretch Golf Belt provided the most customizable fit that I’ve ever experienced in term of golf belts and they offer a myriad of styles.
Golfish Pembroke Hoodie
The Pembroke Hoodie was the cherry on top for me.
The Pembroke Hoodie is the perfect balance between thick and thin, making it a great choice for spring and fall weather. It’s probably a bit too warm to wear on the golf course during the summer but if you plan on doing some catfishing at night after your round, it’s perfect for those breezy, cool sessions.
The fit was great, the comfort level was A+ and the style is meant for a minimalist looking for a simple hoodie that can be paired with anything.
Final thoughts
Golfish is for a niche group of people but a great option for that specific group.
If you’re a fisherman who plays golf or a golfer that likes to fish, Golfish should be on your radar. Their entire catalog features more “country club” styled pieces (like the ones featured in this article) while also offering the popular graphic tees, bold hats and more casual hoodies.
The collection that is meant for on-course play is B-tier while the graphic tees, hats and belts arrive safely on top of the A-tier. For a newer apparel company, I’m very impressed with the current catalog and fairly confident that Golfish will find their footing in the industry among the niche crowd I mentioned.
