ATLANTA, Ga. – The Southern Athletic Association has announced Oglethorpe sophomore Jackson Hiller as the Sept. 26 men’s golf athlete of the week.
The SAA noted Hiller’s T5 finish in the NCAA Fall Preview earlier this week, as the Stormy Petrels finished sixth of 18 in the elite national field. Hiller shot 7 under par and was even in line for runner-up on the second day of the event. He recorded six birdies and an eagle.
Hiller earned the SAA’s co-newcomer of the year award last season, and this was his first weekly accolade.
The Stormy Petrels will compete in the Gate City Invitational on Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 30-Oct. 1.
