Most of the time, I don’t bother bringing a cooler in the golf cart. We use the cart for everything. Trips to the marina, quick afternoon rides, the grocery store, range sessions and, of course, golf. Usually, I just toss a can in a koozie and throw snacks in a bag for the kids. Simple.

But I came across the YETI Daytrip 6L Lunch Bag and decided to give it a shot. What first caught my attention was the top closure, which had no zippers or Velcro. Just a magnetic seal that folds down and clicks shut. It’s easy to access, even one-handed, and nothing gets stuck or snagged when you’re reaching for a cold drink mid-round.

Just enough space, just enough structure

This isn’t a cooler for a crowd and that’s the point. It’s built for one or two people. If you’re heading out solo or as a pair for 18 holes, it holds what you need.

Up to nine 12-ounce cans fit inside, especially if you use a small or medium YETI Ice Pack.

There’s plenty of room for a few drinks, a sandwich and some snacks. I’ve tried several cheaper soft coolers and I think that’s why I just gave up on having one in the cart. They didn’t stay cold, didn’t fit right and were a pain to deal with.

The Daytrip stays cold. Even in 95-degree heat. I’ve tested.

One thing to know about the closure

Here’s the one thing worth pointing out: if you overstuff it, it won’t close completely. It relies on a magnetic fold-over design and you can’t really force it shut like a zipper bag. You lose the seal if you jam too much inside so pack with that in mind.

Easy to clean, easy to pack away

Cleaning is simple. I rinse it out and leave it open to dry. It’s also compatible with other YETI accessories, including the Daytrip Shoulder Strap, bottle opener and food storage containers. You can toss it in larger YETI bags like the Camino, Ranchero or GoBox when traveling or packing up for the weekend.

There’s even a small zippered pocket on the back if you want to throw in napkins, utensils or even your keys.

Final thoughts

The YETI Daytrip 6L Lunch Bag isn’t the cheapest option but after a month of using it, I can say the price makes sense. It’s well-built and does exactly what it’s supposed to do. I used to avoid bringing a cooler altogether but now I look for excuses to use this one. If you like simple gear that does its job without fuss, this is it.
