I Went Christmas Shopping For A Golfer With A $300 Budget. Here’s What I Bought

Christmas shopping is one of my favorite parts of the year but I loathe spending too much money during the holidays. That’s not what Christmas is about and it can easily put a financial strain on almost everyone regardless of your budget. The holidays shouldn’t be stressful.

So, this season, I gave myself $300 and started shopping for a golfer on my list.

That should be enough money to get a handful of nice stuff and I wanted to see just how much good stuff I could put together before hitting my limit.

Here’s where the money went.

1. Quince Flowknit Breeze Performance Polo

I’ve talked about it so many times but Quince’s Flowknit Breeze Performance Polo is one of the best values for money in golf.

Commensurate to price, the quality is insanely good. The fit is perfect. I love this shirt and it will be welcomed in any, and I mean any, golfer’s wardrobe.

This polo $36. This is easily my first buy.

2. Wilson Infinite Buckingham Putter

Wilson Infinite Buckingham mallet putter review

With all of the 2026 putter releases and testing, everyone seems to forget about the 2025 darling: the Wilson Infinite Buckingham, our top mallet of 2025.

At $140, this is also still one of the absolute best values for money in golf and it’s my “premium” pick for the $300 budget.

With the Quince polo already in the bag, this brings us to $176, just north of the halfway mark.

That being said, most people like a “big” gift for Christmas and this more than scratches that itch without having to spend an arm and a leg.

3. Maxfli Tour X Golf Balls

I had to get a box of golf balls in here and the Maxfli Tour X is always my ball of choice.

Our 2026 ball testing gives me plenty of reason to feel good about that choice. The Tour X was one of our mid-spin picks for high swing speeds, ranked among the fastest balls we tested at mid swing speed and produced plenty of greenside spin.

At $39.99 per dozen, that’s a lot of golf ball for the money.

With the polo, putter and a dozen Tour X balls, we’re now at $215.99.

Running total: $215.99

4. Jones Circa ’71 Headcover

A classic headcover is always a great gift and headcovers are generally ridiculously expensive.

The Jones Circa ’71 is as classic as it gets. That being said, for as recognizable as it is, you don’t see it in too many golf bags.

That also makes it a really unique gift for someone who doesn’t like to look like everyone else.

This headcover is $45. Many headcovers cost about $100. You best believe the Circa ’71 is coming home for the holidays.

Running total: $260.99

PING Tour Golf Glove

With just under $40 left, I wanted to add something I knew almost any golfer would certainly use. The PING Tour was the runner-up in our 2026 golf glove testing, earning a 9.6 overall score for its excellent feel, softness and performance.

Golf gloves are an item where spending a little more almost always makes sense. The PING Tour is made from leather, feels premium and, based on our testing, performs about as well as anything out there.

At $32, it leaves me with just $7.01 to spare.

Running total: $292.99

The bottom line

I feel congratulations are in order because we actually came in under budget(!) and still walked away with some absolutely excellent buys.

But if we want to keep things the same for next year, that means we have to spend the full $300. So, with the $7.01 we have left, that means we almost certainly have treat ourselves to a coffee from Dunkin’.

Holiday shopping is exhausting. We’ve earned it.
