If You Like A Splash Of Color, You’ll Love This Limited-Edition Drop From Srixon

If it were up to me, Limited Edition Season would be all year long.

I love it when OEMs get a little crazy, let their hair down and experiment a little. Sometimes the results are silly, other times sublime, but they’re almost always fun.

And as we’ve said about a zillion times before, golf is a game, and games are supposed to be fun.

Which is why Srixon should get a well-deserved tip of the painter’s cap for its latest limited-edition release, the Tour Ink Collection.

Srixon Tour Ink Collection

What is the Srixon Tour Ink Collection?

The limited-edition drops we see this time of year are usually yellow and green (or even worse, azalea-themed) and centered on that annual get-together in Georgia. But Srixon deserves some credit for doing something no one else would have thought of: limited-edition hats and stand bags in honor of this week’s Valspar Championship at Innisbrook in Florida.

The Tour Ink Collection is pretty simple: four Srixon Tour hats and three Srixon S3 stand bags splashed with color by either an avant-garde artist or a sloppy house painter. They bring a definite Easter-egg vibe.

“We’re always looking to bring something new and exciting to the course,” says Srixon Senior Product Manager Casey Schultz. “The Tour Ink Collection felt like a great way to welcome the spring season.”

Srixon’s Tour staff will be sporting Tour Ink headwear this weekend at the Valspar. The collection features a different color for each day of the tournament: red, black, light blue and white.

The Srixon S3 stand bag is also getting the Tour Ink treatment. They’ll be available in three colorways: White Splash, Black Splash and a sweet-looking Baby Blue Splash.

Why the Valspar?

The Valspar is a curious event to focus a limited-edition soft-goods drop on. Didn’t make much sense to me until I looked up what Valspar is: one of America’s oldest paint and coating brands.

Because I know you won’t be able to enjoy your day without knowing, Valspar was founded in 1806 in Boston and is known for interior and exterior house paints, wood stains and sealers, commercial/industrial coatings and automotive finishes.

The Valspar name comes from a pioneering clear varnish developed by the Valentine family, a one-time owner of the company. Valspar has been a subsidiary of Sherwin-Williams since 2016.

This, my friends, is the kind of information curious golfers can only find at MyGolfSpy.

You’re welcome.

The Srixon Tour Ink Collection hats are $34.99 and the bags are $279.99.
