It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Gary Pollock in his hometown of Ottawa, ON.
Loving husband of Lori (nee Freel) for 31 years and very proud father of Rachel Lindsay.
Devoted son of Anne (Richard Wilbur) and Desmond (Valerie), brothers to Kim (Jennifer), Jeffrey (Monica), sister Carolyn (Stephen Chase), step-brother Tony Wilbur (Debbie). Brother-in-law to Michael Freel, Suzy and Scott Gerrard, Patty Freel (Doran Maguire). Life-long friends with the Damiano Family.
Uncle Gary will be missed by all his favourite nephews and nieces, Nicholas, Chelsey, Jessica, Sean, Jason, Charlotte, Ryan, Brendan, Christie, Erin and Patrick.
Gary had a lifelong passion with sports. He began backyard hockey at 4 and golf at 7. His family joined Cedarhill with the help of his Grandpa Dave Gentry. He began by fixing clubs that he and his brothers broke and eventually became a Ping Custom Club Fitter. He played both sports competitively in the Ottawa area as well as being a member of the Quebec Junior Golf Team. He met Lori at Cedarhill where they won side by side Club Championships. He was the best Daddy Caddie and #1 fan of Rachel, both on and off the course.
He proudly worked alongside his father Des for 14 years owning and operating Nevada Bob’s Golf and Tennis in Brampton, ON. Following that he worked at Tournament Sports, eventually becoming the Vice President of Sales.
Gary was kind, generous, caring and genuine, always thinking of others. He was light-hearted, warm and made a lasting impression with friends, colleagues, sales reps and customers alike.
