CARLSBAD, Ca. – The Augusta men’s golf team finished play at the NCAA Championship on Sunday. The Jaguars finished in 28th place at 39-over-par for the 54 holes. The top 16 teams advanced to the final 18 holes and then the field will be cut to eight for the start of match play on Tuesday. Bo Blanchard II was low AU golfer on the day and just missed out on making the cut for the individual championship race.

Blanchard shot a final round 72 and finished in 57th place at 5-over-par. He birdied the second hole and then had a bogey on no. 7. His back nine was very similar with a single birdie and a bogey to finish at even par on the day. The 72 was his best round for the championship.
Chapman Barnett had a solid final day as he posted a 74. Barnett started with two straight birdies but made five bogeys on the front nine. He did add two more birdies and two more bogeys on the back nine. His round Sunday was three shots better than either one of his first two rounds.
Pieter Rossouw Jr. turned in his best round of the championship with a 74 on Sunday. Rossouw had two birdies on the first four holes before making two bogeys. He did make two more birdies on the back nine but they were offset by four bogeys.
Dean Wilken had the last counting score for the Jaguars with a 78. Wilken made two birdies and went 39-39 for the day.
Stefan Jacobs had the team’s non-counting score with a 79.
The NCAA Championship continues on Monday with the top 15 teams vying for the final eight spots. An individual champion will also be crowned.
