Jang Named CUSA Golfer of the Week

DALLAS – Sophomore Jackie Jang led the way for Kennesaw State women’s golf this week at the Flyer Invitational in Dayton, Ohio, finishing in the top 5 to earn Conference USA Golfer of the Week honors, the league announced on Wednesday.

The New Zealand native posted rounds of 73-75-75 for a 10-over total of 223 and a fifth-place finish overall to help propel the Owls to a tied second-place finish as a team.

Jang opened the tournament as the team leader, posting a 2-over par 73 for Round 1 with three birdies and nine pars. She then turned in a strong second and third rounds, shooting 75 in both to preserve her place among the top 5 individuals in the field.

For the tournament, she finished fourth in total pars with 35 total, while also finishing tied for fourth in the field for average strokes on par 5’s – averaging 4.78 with a 2-under par total for all par 5’s.

Kennesaw State will wrap up their fall slate when they head out to the Aloha State for the Rainbow Wahine Invitational in Hawaii on Oct. 20-22.
