Kathie Shearer, the much loved and gregarious former media manager and wife of the late and great, Bob, seems to have been around golf forever.
While she’s reduced her media work recently, she’ll still be helping out once more with publicity at the Geoff Ogilvy Sandbelt Invitational at Woodlands next month.
Away from golf, Kathie has also worn many other career hats.
As well as managing world stars like Greg Norman and Tiger Woods and even her husband, at many Australian tournaments, she has been a marriage and funeral celebrant.
Former golf media manager and wife of the late Bob Shearer, Kathie Shearer has founded a new business, ‘Love in a Rock’.
That partly explains her latest project.
Kathie has founded a new business, Love in a Rock, which allows those close to you
to keep your ashes in a commemorative portable stone suitable for a garden, a terrace, a balcony or even a special room in the house.
“Using my experience as a (funeral) celebrant I have found that many of us need help and guidance when it comes to sorting out the taboo subject of our departure from this world.
“Take it from me, it is so much easier to make decisions while you are still alive rather than leave it to others in times of extreme stress and grief.”
“In these times of high funeral costs, doing the right thing for a loved one can be financially challenging and by considering Love in a Rock you will be able to reduce cemetery, headstone and maintenance costs while still having your loved one with you at all times,” Kathie said.
