Knipes claims victory at Motocaddy Championship

Essex-born tour player Curtis Knipes claimed victory in the Clutch Pro Tour‘s Motocaddy Championship after shooting rounds of 68, 63 and 67 at Bishop’s Stortford Golf Club.

Knipes, 25, who who hails from Chelmsford but is attached to Hanbury Manor, finished on -12 for 54 holes, beating Josh Hilleard and Ben Hutchinson by two shots, with the latter closing with a five-under 65 to share the runner’s up spoils.

The Tier I Clutch Pro Tour event saw a strong field of emerging professional golfers compete for a £50,000 tournament prize fund and a host of award-winning Motocaddy products at the Hertfordshire venue, located just three miles from the company’s headquarters.

After a lengthy weather delay and a final-round shotgun start, Knipes held his nerve to secure the title following a clutch birdie on the last hole, adding his name to an illustrious list of winners on the UK’s leading development tour.
