Shane Lowry will have a chance to notch his first top 10 since his Congnizant Classic disappointment in the RBC Canadian Open and head to the US Open with a spring in his step.
The Offaly man lost a three-shot lead with double-bogeys on the 16th and 17th to hand Nico Echavarria the title in Palm Beach in March.
He went on to shoot 80 in the final round of the Masters when in contention but after carding a three-under 67 in last night’s third round at TPC Toronto as Osprey Valley, he’s just four shots behind leader Jack Suber.
The American (26) shot 66 to lead by a shot on 13-under par from Bud Cauley (66) and by two from Wyndham Clark (63), Brice Garnett, (67), Tommy Fleetwood (67) and Jesper Svensson (68).
He’s tied for 12th on nine under and in with a chance of contending again before heading to Shinnecock Hills.
