Massive blow for LIV Golf as Jon Rahm quits

Jon Rahm has dealt a huge commercial blow to LIV Golf 2.0 by confirming his exit from the league after snubbing their new terms.

The news broke on Tuesday following ongoing talks with the league’s new funders.

Rahm has now officially quit the flailing rebel league, his lawyers saying that the Spaniard “has independently reviewed the proposed terms of LIV 2.0 … and has determined that those terms are unacceptable to him, and he will not be participating going forward,” according to Front Office Sports.

Rahm is listed as the top unsecured creditor with more than $7 million owed to him for the third quarter of 2026 alone.

Under the LIV Golf bankruptcy filing, all players were reportedly able to leave the tour.

Adrian Meronk and Sergio Garcia have also announced their intentions to leave LIV Golf.

Rahm joined LIV Golf in the December of 2023 and signed a deal worth a reported $300 million with the Saudi-backed breakaway league.
