McFadden Clinches Girls’ Title and Korytoski Dominates the Field at Southeast Junior Open

ATLANTA, GA – Fourteen-year-old Gabriel Korytoski of Newnan, Georgia, ran away with the Southeast Junior Open title at Sanctuary Golf Club, cruising to a six-shot victory with a three-day total of 13-under par.

The rising high school freshman fired rounds of 66-67-70 to finish at -13, separating himself from a talented field that included competitors up to four years older.

“It’s awesome to compete against people older than me, but I’ve always held myself to high standards. I’ve always wanted to dominate no matter the age difference,” said Korytoski.

For Korytoski, this commanding week at Sanctuary Golf Club only strengthened the belief he already had in his game.

“This win boosts my confidence drastically. It’s always good when you know the game is there – it’s just a matter of whether you bring it with you,” he said.

In the girls championship, 16-year-old Delaney McFadden claimed the overall title at 4-over par, securing the victory in dramatic fashion with a clutch par on the 18th hole during Wednesday’s final round. McFadden, the Johns Creek native and rising senior at Blessed Trinity Catholic High School, hung on to first place with a consistent 73-74-73 performance over her three days.

The boys 16–18 division ended with Bax Klement and Kolby Pounds sharing co-champion honors at 7-under par. Klement produced the best round of the tournament on Wednesday, carding an outstanding 7-under 65 to surge from 10th place entering the final round into a share of the division title and second overall.

In the boys 11–13 division, 13-year-old Daniel Shin secured his win at 6-under par, highlighted by an impressive 5-under 67 in the final round. Shin’s victory came in resounding fashion, dominating his age group by an astounding 34 strokes.

With the victories, each division champion earned an exemption into the North American Championship on the NXXT Faldo Junior Tour, to be played this December at Streamsong Golf Resort in Florida.
