Laredo, Tx. — The Augusta men’s golf team wrapped up play at the Border Olympics in Laredo, Texas, on Tuesday, finishing in 11th place as a team. Bo Blanchard II and Pieter Rossouw Jr. tied for 33rd place individually.
Louisiana won the team title by six shots over host Houston and New Mexico State. Ethan Klose of New Mexico State earned medalist honors with a one-stroke victory.
The Jaguars’ Stefan Jacobs posted his best round of the event—and the team’s low score for the day—with a one-under 70 on Tuesday. Jacobs recorded five birdies, along with two bogeys and a double bogey, finishing at +15 for the tournament.
Rossouw had two birdies, two bogeys, and a double bogey to finish at two over for the round and +8 for the tournament. Blanchard, who was Augusta’s low golfer on day one, shot a 76 on Tuesday to also finish at +8.
Chapman Barnett improved by five shots from either of his rounds on Monday, firing a 72 to finish at +12 for the tournament. Josh Koekemoer recorded three birdies on Tuesday, posting a 74 on the scorecard to finish at +14 overall.
Augusta will next compete at the Seminole Intercollegiate in Tallahassee, Florida, on March 10-11.
