In a gripping showdown at the Kroger Queen City Championship in Cincinnati, Australian golfer Minjee Lee emerged victorious after a thrilling sudden-death playoff against England’s Charley Hull.

Lee produced a remarkable shot from the rough on the second playoff hole to set up a birdie tap-in, securing her 9th LPGA Championship title.

Hailing from Perth and at 27 years of age, Lee’s win adds another milestone to her already impressive career marking her 12th professional victory.

Throughout the day, Lee maintained her composure, starting with a two-shot lead and extending it to as much as five strokes over Hull, who faced several bogeys during the round. However, the par-5 12th hole saw a double bogey from Lee, momentarily disrupting her momentum on the back nine.

Lee ultimately navigated her way through the remaining holes with consecutive pars from the 13th to the 18th, setting the stage for the dramatic playoff.

Notably, Hull came agonizingly close to victory at the first playoff hole when an incredible putt from off the green stopped just half a roll short of the hole.
