We are in 2025, and golf ball technology keeps getting better and better – but which ball has the greatest distance on the market?
MyGolfSpy recently undertook over 80 hours of testing the high swing speed results of some of the leading golf balls available to purchase in 2025.
The results are full of surprises. Some long flyers mixed in with underwhelming premium golf ball options that fly less than their more budget alternatives.
The game’s leading golf ball manufacturers all feature, but which performed the best in a high swing speed distance test?
Golf365 explore the performance, value and ultimate verdict on the distance test’s biggest flying golf balls of 2025.
Best golf balls for distance 2025
1. Callaway Chrome Tour Triple Diamond
- MyGolfSpy distance: 328.1 yards
- Box price (dozen): £49.99
Performance: Callaway uses a high-performance Tour urethane cover to deliver fast ball speeds with lower spin and a penetrating flight that suits fast golf swings.
Best for: High swing speed and low spin drives.
Value: Positioned at the premium end, it is one of the pricier balls but justifiable with performance.
Verdict: No surprises here, a top-tier ball with optimised 2025 technology that delivers the best distance on the market by a margin.
2. PXG Xtreme Tour
- MyGolfSpy distance: 325.5 yards
- Box price (dozen): £40
Performance: PXG Xtreme Tour balls are built with three-piece construction with a soft urethane cover to produce strong distance at high speed.
Best for: Those with high swing speeds wanting near Tour-level performance at a smaller price.
Value: Excellent premium performances that come at a lower price tag than many rivals.
Verdict: The PXG ball is higher than many would expect, offering elite performance at a reasonable price.
3. Bridgestone Tour B X
- MyGolfSpy distance: 324.8 yards
- Box price (dozen): £39.99
Performance: Long trusted by Tiger Woods, Bridgestone have found the perfect balance of distance and feel while maintaining spin and short game performance.
Best for: It is a versatile ball with good distance, ideal for control and feel.
Value: Competitively priced, not cheap, not expensive, but a ball trusted by many Tour players.
Verdict: The ball’s all-around properties mean there is no shock that it is a good performer.
4= Taylormade Tour Response
- MyGolfSpy distance: 324.3 yards
- Box price (dozen): £37.99
Performance: High flex material for fast speeds and soft feel with handy alignment aids on the stripe model.
Best for: This ball could suit mid-handicappers with a moderate swing speed seeking premium feel, distance and alignment aid.
Value: Very reasonably priced for a ball with a urethane cover and one of the best flyers out there.
Verdict: Slightly surprising, it is a good value golf ball that is definitely punching above its weight.
4= Titleist Tour Soft
- MyGolfSpy distance: 324.3 yards
- Box price (dozen): £34
Performance: Two-piece build with an ionomer cover – soft feel and good spin for a mid-price option.
Best for: Golfers who cannot justify premium pricetags while still striving for good distance, control and spin.
Value: Great value for money at £34 a dozen, much lower than premium alternatives and a top five flyer.
Verdict: Very surprised that this Titleist golf ball outperformed the manufacturer’s more pricy options.
6. Srixon Z-Star XV
- MyGolfSpy distance: 324.1 yards
- Box price (dozen): £42.99
Performance: Three-piece construction with a firmer feel. High speed/low spin blend with strong spin control performance.
Best for: Stronger swingers of the ball wanting booming power off the tee while maintaining approach control.
Value: We want to say good value for a premium ball; however, if you’re after long flyers, it seems you can find longer balls at a better price.
Verdict: No shocks from Srixon, a versatile premium option that blends distance and control.
7. Titleist Pro V1x Left Dash
- MyGolfSpy distance: 323.1 yards
- Box price (dozen): £52
Performance: This Pro V1 variant is incredibly popular on Tour with its lower spin and firmer feel, great for maximising distance.
Best for: Big-hitting players looking for long shots with high launch and low spin, as well as penetration through windy conditions.
Value: Premium pricing, probably one of the most expensive out there. This ball is less about value and more about player-specific performance.
Verdict: Surprisingly, this Titleist premium option has less distance than their budget Tour Soft alternative – arguably the biggest shock of the Test.
Honourable mentions: Kirkland Performance+ 3.5, Srixon Z-Star Diamond and Wilson Staff model all flew over 320 yards in the MYGOLFSPY distance test.
