SYDNEY golf coach Brent Dale will host the inaugural Sydney Junior Open on July 2–3, 2026 at the Oak Point Golf Club in Sydney’s western suburbs.
Designed to elevate the standard of junior golf in Australia, the event will feature a 54-hole World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) tournament for players aged 13 and over.
The Sydney Junior Open will also include age-specific formats for younger competitors, with players aged 9–12 to compete over 18 holes per day, while 7–8-year-olds will play 9 holes daily on a modified course setup to ensure an enjoyable and developmentally appropriate experience.

The Oak Point course is set to host the inaugural Sydney Junior Open July 2 and 3.
A key highlight of the event is the global pathway it is set to provide, with winners earning entry into the Future Champions Golf Tour’s Callaway World Championship in Palm Springs in 2027.
“Now that I’m coaching full time, I’ve been able to put the time into creating an event I’ve always wanted to run — one that gives juniors a real opportunity to compete and progress,” said Dale.
Supported by local and international partners, the Sydney Junior Open is set to become an annual fixture, offering young golfers a platform to develop and compete, with the potential to gain exposure on a global stage.
Businesses are being encouraged to support the event by contacting Brent Dale at info@yourgolfperformance.com.
